A recent survey has discovered that property in the vicinity of a Waitrose store sells for way above the national average house price.
But the reason why is not quite clear. Some would argue that house prices in the local area jump up after a Waitrose has opened while others believe that Waitrose targets affluent areas as they are a premium supermarket chain.
Whatever the reason, the fact remains that homes close to a Waitrose do sell for more: the average price of a home in the UK in 2018 was £230,776 while homes within 0.25 miles of a Waitrose store sell for £469,933 on average.
